Lucia Procession and Potluck on December 11

On December 11 we remember one of the great saints of the medieval church with a procession, storytelling, Lucia Song, and a delightful smorgasbord potluck after worship in the Narthex.  Look for extra copies of the Lucia Cookbook in the Narthex on December 4th, and also for a signup sheet to indicate what you can bring on the 11th.

Joint No-Rehearsal Christmas Pageant December 18

Join Foothill and Grace for our 2nd Annual no-rehearsal Christmas program.  Everyone can participate in the pageant and there is no need to practice.  All the parts and costumes are provided for you on the 18th.  Last year the program was a great success and we are glad to bring it back for an encore.

Joint Worship on January 22nd with Special Guest Chuck Neighbors

Foothill and Grace Community Covenant Churches will join for worship on January 22nd with special guest presenter Chuck Neighbors.

Chuck Neighbors began his career as a professional actor, director, storyteller and writer in 1974. He has toured his one-man shows throughout North America as well as 17 countries around the world. His most popular one-man drama, an adaptation of Charles Sheldon’s Christian Classic, In His Steps, has been featured on radio and television and performed before hundreds of live audiences. Chuck has performed in theaters, churches, gymnasiums, airplane hangars and even on board a submarine. He has traveled by planes, trains and automobiles (and buses and boats) and even by helicopter to mountaintops in South Korea, performing for U.S. military troops.

Chuck is much in demand as a workshop/seminar leader for both large conferences and the local church. Chuck and his wife, Lorie, make their home in Salem, Oregon.

Parents Day Out

On Saturday, December 17 from 1:00 to 5:00 we will be hosting a Parents Day Out for the community. This is the weekend before Christmas, so parents can drop their kids off for a day full of fun activities while they go and get some last minute errands done! Parents should feel free to either take advantage of the entire 4 hours or drop off and pick up kids at any time between 1 and 5. We want to offer this as a chance to get to know and serve our community, so pass the word along to neighbors and friends who may benefit from a couple kid-free hours that day!

Reflection Service

Advent is drawing near, and we want to encourage you to begin this season with a special time of worship and reflection. The service will be held in the evening on November 27 from 6:00-7:00. This will be a  peaceful time of worship through singing, meditation and Scripture designed to prepare our hearts as a community for the coming of Advent.
We will hold a coffee shop after the service for some additional fellowship and fun; feel free to bring your own favorite Christmas mug for coffee, tea, or hot cocoa!
